Have you guys had the chance of planting and harvesting your own watermelon?
For the second year in a row, we are blessed with watermelons from our own backyard. How cool is that?
Last year, we were able to enjoy about 4 of them from just one plant that survived amidst the excruciating Texas heat and this year, there are 7 of them from about 2 plants in our organic backyard.
Watermelon is just one of those that we get to enjoy from what we grew. We have a lot of vegetables that friends are also benefiting as well as fruit trees. Having a yard big enough for gardening is simply therapeutic and very enjoyable. Yes, healthy, too! Most of all, it gives us a chance to show to our kids that green living is always the best!
